This past week has been absolute HELL! I went through something I've never experienced in my life before. Someone stole from me. Not once, but TWICE. On TWO different days. And it happened at the same place.
My phone was lost and someone took it upon themselves to take it. My card was stolen from my purse while I was ON THE CLOCK! Let's get into the story time.
So on the 18th or 19th of August I was at work. My phone is usually on me for emergency purposes because you never know what could happen in today's world. A fire broke out and we had to evacuate ourselves and customers in the building. Mind you, there was at the very least 200-300 people in the building at the time. All trying to make their way outside. When I left from my post, I didn't realize I had dropped my phone until about 2-3 minutes later. I wanted to go and look for it but the crowd was too big. I decided to look for it later when the building was empty. Fast forward, the fire was put out, all the staff and workers had a brief meeting and we were free to leave. I went and retraced my steps but couldn't find my phone. I borrowed someone's phone to try Find My IPhone. My phone wasn't popping up. That was the last time my phone was seen. Who ever took it, turned it off so it wouldn't be tracked. Crazy thing is, the phone is now useless to them after we disabled it.
I couldn't even cry properly because I got emails sent about my card being used at a gas station a day or two after that incident. I just assumed the person with my phone was trying to use my card...until it hit me, How would they be able to access my cards if you need a password to use it? That means someone stole my card from my purse.
I was so caught up in my phone being stolen I didn't take a second to look at my other belongings.
The day after my phone was stolen, after work I went to where I put my bag for the day. I noticed that the part where my cards usually were was open. I opened it and looked through to see if my cards were there. All except one was present. I just brushed it off as me leaving it somewhere in my house because that happened before. I should've went wiht my gut and realized a coworker took it from me.
This week has been terrible and NOBODY has been able to make it better. I'm never going to forget this week and I'll never be the same.
