This past Friday, Supernova played a gig at Mrs. Riley's Public House in High Bridge, NJ. Was a cool place, small stage, good crowd...interesting people when you go west in New Jersey though!!!
Suddenly I look average.
Aside from a few hiccups early on, the band sounded really good, played a LOT of songs, more than the last gig if I can recall. Threw in some more Beatles, CCR, John Cougar, and Foo Fighters alongside The Killers, Poison, Lit, Tom Petty, etc. I enjoy the versatility, and when the crowd is dancing and singing along, I feel good.
So what's this about a revamped single?
Back on March 23, 2015 I released a single called "Quicker Than The Devil". It was to date the first and only song to hit the #1 spot in my repertoire on the UK Metal charts (station is now defunct). I never liked how sluggish the studio version was because when I would do it live, it would be faster. After all, the song has "quicker" in the title!!
What does one do? One speeds the studio version up.
I nudged the tempo without altering the pitch at 10%. Now the song is where it should have always been. And since I recorded the song for free, I had no room to complain about things. Never bite the hand that feeds, you know? I also added some delay and made the top end a little brighter. That's all. So now I call the song "Quicker Than The Devil (A Little Quicker!)" to be tongue in cheek.
You can hear it on Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and my website. It will be on Spotify, Amazon Music, iTunes, etc soon.
I feel vindicated!
