This is a long film that explores the stages of adolescence, the fascination with celebrities as refuges, the bullying that transforms some into victims and others into bullies, and the suicide that becomes a perceived escape from their pain. The violence committed by the bullies stems from their desire to defend themselves against their mediocre and difficult lives. They seek to assert themselves as leaders of their group but ultimately face consequences, often becoming victims themselves, much like many other teenagers featured in the movie blog.

In the end, no one was a saint; everyone was broken and seeking to defend themselves. Each person found a refuge in Lily Chou-Chou, yet they all judged one another for liking her, despite being the same, all in their search for identity. Lily Chou-Chou was inspired by Björk, which adds to the impact of the film. People often find refuge in singers, celebrities, actors, and anything that provides comfort, as this is a realistic need. Everyone seeks a comforting image, like a nest that embraces them while they sit in a fetal position, yearning to be fed and consoled.
