why is it so hard to be educated?

so, for as long as i can remember i have been one of those kids teachers label "gifted". always the first one done with their work, straight a's, high test scores, whatever. people were always sure i was going to get into a respectable college or uni with noooo problem. now that i have to start looking at colleges and careers (which is really stressful?? idk what i wanna do!!) its so fucking hard. it feels like im subpar compared to the rest of the college applicants. i have a 3.3 gpa unweighted, and a 4.8 weighted (i think). i only have 2 extracurriculars, some volunteer hours, haven't joined a single club, and doesn't have a passion project. im actually cooked. applying to college is so competitive now, and it feels like i will never get in into a decent college. my plan was to go to a college with a high acceptance rate, but the feeling of getting it wont feel like i worked for anything, ykwim?

sometimes I feel like I missed out on the Ivy League/serious academic experience, like what if I tried to be a good student in high school. Then I realize its all just a blip in our increasingly short and sudden timeline. I think you're stressing out for good reason but for the most part, I feel like college is what you make of it. It could be Harvard or it could be a community college. You get what you put in! Hopefully, this eases up some of your concerns.... and if not good luck pal! There's more to life than education like traveling the world and meeting crazy folk! THATS NOT TO SAY THAT EDUCATION IS NOT IMPORTANT CUZ IT IS
