heres a list of japanese 2000's movies that i watched, w my reviews on it!!

im a big fan of that aesthetic so ill try to update this blog as often as i can.

1. Blue Gate Crossing (2002)

yueh-chen has an obsession with her classmate Shihao, but is too shy to confess to him directly. She sends in her best friend, Kerou, to act as a go-between, and Shihao ends up falling for Kerou, who is not sure what to think of him.

★★★☆☆,5

loved how chill it was. the mood, musics, characters, everything is v sweet. i liked the queer represntation too, and the way the love is represented when the main character realise she's in love w her best friend. the 3 characters and their relationships were pretty ineresting, and realistic, just teenagers growin up and experiencing new emotions. im kinda deceived by the end tho, but thats only my opinion!!

it was cool, but yea just a chill slice of life movie. v pretty aesthetic too tho. (i loved the guy tho, poor him, he was a scorpio and a guitarist why didnt she loves him..)

2. All About Lily Chou-chou (2001)

Pain can take you in prison. The ether can set you free.

ok so im actually so sad that i didnt get this movie like everone else LMAO. i had a lot of high expectations considering everyone was saying it was a masterpiece, but yea, sadly i didnt enjoy it that much.

first, aesthetic IS a masterpiece, the vibes are insane, the way its filmed, the musics, the landscape, yes its truly a mood, i loved it so much its such an art inspiration.

now about the storyline.. it was very long, its 2h26 long, but the 1st part of the movie felt like an ethernity. i was into it only for the last 40 minutes, cus it became v interesting and it was sooo harsh n hard, i really loved the ending. the movie has thos "goodnight punpun" vibes. ofc its just my opinion, but yea the end was the only part i truly enjoyed the movie.

i RLLY need to know everyone's opinions n theories, cus i didnt get it a ALL lmao. maybe im the dumb one (prob) but i rlly didnt get the point of the movie, what its tryin to express. all i see is ppl sayin "waa its so deep, so meaningful" but no one is explaining what they actually understood from the movie, id love to have yall pov on it </3.

3. Oresama (2003)

japanese music legend Miyavi stars as himself in this time-traveling rock ’n’ roll fantasy. on the last leg of a long concert tour that’s kept him busy fending off adoring fans, Miyavi falls asleep and awakens to discover that the year is 1984. Miyavi wanders the streets before meeting a local musician named Shinni (Hassei Takano) and convinces him to form a new band. Ryôta Matsushima co-stars as Miyavi’s younger self.

ok so this is one of my fav movie EVER. i love everything about it. im a big vkei fan, so obviously im also a big miyavi fan, so i was so excited to watch this, and i knew i was gonna love it fs. everything is perfect, aesthetic, mood, outfits, musics, characters...

the concert scene is prob one of my fav cinema scene ever. i love the way its filmed. i also have to mention how in love i am w miyavi ( ;´ - `;) i loved him before watching it, but damn... the way he is in oresama... physically n his vibe, i just love everything about him help. also BIG BIG BIG gender envy lmao, wanted to steal his gender all along the movie..

if you like miyavi or globally vkei, go watch it you wont regret it. if you like 2000' japanese cinema, same goes for u, u def have to watch it. its prob in my top 10.

4. Kamikaze Girls (2004)

The extraordinary adventures of a Lolita-look aficionado and a tough biker gang chick.

AAAAA i loved it so so much (つ╥﹏╥)つ def one of my fav film ever too. i am SO in love w the aesthetic, mood, musics, OUTFITS. it was so funny, both characters are my babies theyre so lovely and i love how their relationship evolved, and how it made them evolve too. 

my only regret is.. how tf are they not LESBIANS. i swear i thought they were gonna end up together, but turn out theyre just besties... when ichiko got a crush on a man i was fr so confused lmao, they were destined to be together imo..

5. Peep "TV" Show (2004)

2,843 people were blown to hell when a fireball hit the World Trade Center. It was such a beautiful sight.
