Capacitance is the capacity an object has to hold charge. One of the limiting factors of capacitance is electric potential. Is the problem potential? Does it hurt so much as the electric field grows stronger and the tension between the plates increases?
The capacitor will feel relief as charge is released, so it must be a problem of mine that I feel the tension when no field is present.
That's what's called non-ideal behavior, which is a constant in the world beyond theory.
