(okay ignore the long title i didn't know what to title this)
HII GUYS I HAVE WANTED TO MAKE THIS POST FOR A WHILE AND I FINALLY DIDDD
OKAY SO Undertale's two most iconic and famous songs are "Hopes and Dreams" and "Megalovania" which play in the final boss fights of the True Pacifist Route and Genocide route. The songs share a few instruments like drums and chiptune elements mixed with electric guitar. Chiptune is not unusual, as it is found ALL across Undertale and Deltarune, and drums are not hard to find either. It's the electric guitar that is a rarity. It plays in only a select few songs, when Frisk is faced against the most powerful and difficult monsters of their entire journey. Deltarune's electric guitar is also used so sparingly to the point that it can be put in only two categories; Susie songs and "Your Power". Electric guitar is the only instrument in "Susie" and "Vs Susie," and "Final Power" only plays when Kris is using a lot of power (maybe determination? uncertain, that is just speculation) to seal the dark fountain. In Undertale, Hopes And Dreams plays while Asriel has six human souls plus the soul of every monster in the underground at his command (which is equivalent to one human soul, according to some of the wall messages in Waterfall) and.. Sans is Sans. He is powerful enough to subdue and dodge a human at LV 19 but no one knows why?????? ANYWAY that isn't important!!!!!!
ANYWAYS, almost every example of electric guitar is associated with power. Sans is doing his own thing, Asriel has the power of basically seven human souls, Kris is SEALING A DARK FOUNTAIN.. which in my opinion is drawing a connection with the electric guitar and power in both games. But Susie is the outlier.
If the electric guitar = power, WHY is that instrument the backbone of Susie's themes???? is it an exception???? is it just Susie is Cool and Tough so she needs a Cool Instrument..,.??!?!?!? idk man!!!
i have taken the time to do an analysis of as many songs as I could to try and answer these questions and maybe speculate some more about Susie's future role and stuff!!!!!!

the first thing I decided to do was establish WHICH songs in the Undertale and Deltarune soundtracks actually have electric guitar. That way we can determine if the electric guitar/power correlation is an actual thing (theory?)
I went and listened to almost every song. Some of them were very easy to disqualify immediately (Waterfall, Empty Town, sans, My Castle Town, Spider Dance, etc.) but a few I listened to again, (Enemy Approaching and Battle Against A True Hero) and then the songs I suspected in the first place (Hopes and Dreams, Megalovania) I listened to again. I also got my sister to listen to some because she plays the electric guitar so I knew she'd be able to detect which songs actually had the guitar in them.
SONGS THAT CONTAIN ELECTRIC GUITAR IN UNDERTALE
087 - Hopes And Dreams
088 - Burn In Despair!
089 - SAVE The World
091 - Final Power
096 - Last Goodbye
099 - Power of NEO
100 - Megalovania
I first wanted to address a few songs that probably should have electric guitar in them, but don't, like "Your Best Nightmare" for example. Omega Flowey, while very powerful, is actually weaker than Asriel is. Asriel, as mentioned before, has the six human souls AND every soul in the underground. He also gave himself a physical body which may have something to do with it? Anyway, maybe Asriel being more powerful than Flowey nulls Flowey having an electric guitar theme because they share the same dust/essence or rather, ARE the same dust. It may also be relevant that Flower has electric guitar in UTY.. not saying it counts, because UTY is a fan game, but maybe I'm not the only one who noticied.
Last Goodbye doesn't really count because it's a song for the special thanks, where there's no gameplay. Though, it has the Hopes and Dreams/SAVE The World guitar riff, and Asriel introduces you to the special thanks, so it is all connected in some way.
Anyway, the majority of these songs play during battles with only the most powerful adversaries. Except for Power of NEO. While Mettaton NEO is NOT powerful, he is definitely intended to be.
Battle Against A True Hero is maybe the one exception in Undertale. Maybe this can be explained by Undyne NOT being as powerful as Sans or Asriel??? I find that kind of hard to believe. This is the only time in Undertale where I think that the electric guitar = power does not apply.
SONGS THAT CONTAIN ELECTRIC GUITAR IN DELTARUNE CHAPTER 1
004 - Susie
016 - I'm Very Bad
23 - Imminent Death
24 - Vs Susie
36 - Your Power
ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE SONGS ARE RELATED TO SUSIE IN SOME WAY!!! YEAHHH!!!!!!
Susie and Vs Susie are directly Susie themes, but I'm Very Bad is attempting to immitate her theme using a very crunchy electric guitar, and Imminent Death only plays when Susie is threatening Lancer.
Your Power plays when Kris is sealing the dark fountain. It also is an electric guitar heavy track with the word power in it, like Power of NEO and Final Power.
Some songs like Rude Buster I wasn't sure about..... but even if Rude Buster has some electric guitar, it is still connected to Susie because she has a spell called Rude Buster.
SONGS THAT CONTAIN ELECTRIC GUITAR IN DELTARUNE CHAPTER 2
??? - d.ogg
I had a VERY hard time finding ANYTHING with an electric guitar in it in Chapter 2. I only listed the songs I was confident had electric guitar in. Some of the candidates for chapter 2 were Powers Combined, Knock You Down!!, Giga Size, and BIG SHOT. Then again, all of those songs play for powerful bosses or when the Thrash Machine gets powered up. So even if they have electric guitar in them, they still support the correlation between power and the electic guitar.
The only song that I THINK has electric guitar is d.ogg. d.ogg plays right before the Berdly fight in Snowgrave. Snowgrave Noelle is CONSTANTLY telling herself that she's just getting stronger, like.. gaining more power. Noelle is shown to be far more powerful than her demeanor and behavior would lead anyone to believe. She is able to freeze (KILL!!!!!!) enemies in one turn and Queen INSISTS that she's strong enough to make her own dark fountain. Sooo an electric guitar song that plays on the route related to the one of the powerful characters......
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Undertale... FOR SURE... either has a power correlation with an electric guitar!!!! ....or just reserves it for important/cool moments. Deltarune restricts the electric guitar for Susie. That remains the question of if Deltarune will do what Undertale has done, because as it stands, Your Power is the only non-Susie song that FOR SURE has electric guitar.
I THINK AT THIS POINT. it is impossible to tell. At this point in the Deltarune timeline, if we were to look at it like Undertale, we have just barely left Snowdin. So the trend of the powerful guitar is going to continue and appear later, OR it is trying to start a new theme with making the electric guitar be entirely Susie's thing.
Anyway, let's assume that because Deltarune is a parallel universe to Undertale, and at this point in the timeline we have just left Snowdin, that Deltarune will continue the trend. Also, I wanna point out that Undertale has ONE exception to its power = electric guitar rule and right now Deltarune has an exception to its Susie = electric guitar rule.
So if we take that assumption, that means Susie MIGHT end up as a very powerful party member or late-game/end-game boss, maybe a final boss??? we already know she's super powerful and likes fighting people so it makes sense for her to be connected with power without ending up powerful.
anyway I like the idea of Susie being an enemy at some point.,., I think it would be really interesting and would emulate some of the patterns she's shown before. Maybe I should draw that outtt or something
Anothe random thing I noticed is some overly chiptuned songs have gotten a remake in the Deltarune universe as well. Like Empty Town/My Castle Town. I also think Ferris Wheel is a chiptune version of Lost Girl??? NOT sure.??? I don't believe that but it may be the case. The Undertale wiki says that Hopes and Dreams is essentially a redone version of Once Upon A Time as well. So, maybe Vs Susie will get a rework too. It is too good of a song for too good of a character to NOT get heard again..,., it's pretty bare bones instrument wise too...

I hope that you guys liked this <3 If I missed any songs, or you have anything to add, please let me know!!
I know I didn't include the unused songs and that's because most of them were the Power of NEO versions lol, but like I said, I would love to hear if I missed anything!!
love, sky <3

This is a very thought-out and good observation! I think Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans is another very strong example of an electric guitar in Undertale, it's like the main instrument.
