mothman outfit project!!

ahhh okay so i've had this idea for literally probably 2 years and i'm finally moving forward with it, and i'm so excited. basically i'm making a mothman..... cosplay? outfit? idk but basically i really want to take the idea of mothman and combine it with like, old lace, mothholes in wool, ruffly fuzzy antannae, that kind of look. i've been thrifting old lacey things for years, and i'm finally moving forward with the project. 

I'm posting about it on my neocities here, if anyone's interested in a more in-depth look at my process and photos, but it's gonna be a lot of sewing and crocheting. i have this end result look in my mind that i'm hoping i can manage to pull off, and i'm really excited about the possibility of making it real finally. and i'm also having fun making a page to update about the process as well. i have a feeling that page will end up being just as much of the project as the outfit itself.

well, maybe not just as much, but yknow. they're like cousin projects lol!

anyway, i'm about finished the top, which is great but it's also.... that's kind of the only part of it that i'm planning on using a proper pattern for. the rest i'm kind of hoping to go off the cuff, with maybe some referencing patterns for ideas/guidelines but for the most part making it up as i go. which is fun and exciting, but also pretty nerve wracking. like i want to make a whole mothwing shawl but not like any of the patterns that i see around, something more organic looking but also less like actual moth wings, if that makes sense. eh, i know it doesn't, but i know what i mean :p

idk if anyone is going to be interested in my little project, but i am SUPER interested in it, so i'm probably gonna keep yapping about it as it progresses. though, after this weekend i probably won't get a lot of chances to work on it since we get possetion of the house we bought on tuesday (!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!) and that'll require a lot of work to move in and make it what we want it to be so that'll be most of my project time for the forseeable future i bet. i'll probably yap about that too :p
