Fish of the Day 20 - I got that sailfish in me

Today's fish of the day is the sailfish!! It was difficult to choose between that and a swordfish...

Sailfish facts

- Thanks to their aerodynamtic shape, the sailfish is one of the fastest animals on earth, and the fastest fish in the ocean. They can reach an impressive 70mph! 

- They can grow to be quite long, the largest sailfish ever caught was around 11.2ft!

- They have the ability to change their colours by using their nervous system. They use this skill to communicate with others, confuse prey, and impress mates during courtship.

- Another fact relating to their colour: although they normally look to be blue, some argue that the sailfish is typically a brownish green/yellow colour if they aren't using their nerves to change their hue.

- These acrobatic fish can jump up to 20ft in the air! Again, it's all thanks to their body shape.

- They are the official saltwater fish of florida!

Do you got that sailfish in you? I don't think I do... i don't feel very drawn to it. I think i still identify with the yeti crab the most
