Trying to get into D&D

Dungeons and Dragons is a game I have been wanting to play for years now, and I have finally got the motivation to actually play it.

I'm going to be DMing my own custom campaign, I know that probably isn't the best way to start, but I think it will still be super fun! And I kind of want to get into the deeper mechanics of the game, because I don't think anyone else close to me will.

My campaign will be pretty basic, and it will just be me as the DM and my younger brother and sister as Players. A pretty small party, but I think it will be easier to manage, and none of us really got any friends other than online ones.

Currently finishing up the players handbook and will begin reading the Dungeon Masters guide next. The games systems currently aren't that hard to understand, but I'm sure things will get a little more complicated in the DM guide.
