Great Golden Sand Digger (Insect info!! :3)

Today's creature is the Great Golden Sand Digger, a little guy I saw here in New England a few months ago! They're really gorgeous, with a black/orange abdomen!

They're very peaceful since they're solitary, and just go with the flow. males don't have stingers and females mind their own business :3
Their scientific name is Sphex ichneumoneus and they're most often found in Missouri, although they're native to most of the US!

As many wasps do, they mostly eat flower nectar, although they do hunt to feed their young. They often eat crickets and katydids!
