Yesterday, the guy I've been talking to and I began a discussion about how women prioritize their emotions over the reality of a situation and it stuck with me. He described to me how men will call each other out, he said it's how they look out for each other. This was odd to me. As a woman, I am empathetic, most generally are. I told him that if I noticed my friend had let herself go or something like that I would politely tell her in a respectful way. He essentially said he believed it wasn't entirely honest to not just say out right, meaning men would rather just hear the truth than for someone to beat around the bush, which I don't disagree with. A lot of his arguments I don't disagree with, I just believe that being unnecessarily out of pocket when trying to offer advice to your friend. He told me they'll call each other ugly, fat, etc and it made me realize how much women truly value each other. Girls aren't supposed to say that type of stuff to one another because they have to deal with the whole world against them. It's unexplainable to a man, what your best friends mean to a woman. It's your chosen family, it's the girls you can spend day after day and day after day with each other and not run out of things to talk about. To be a woman is a unique experience only known by half the human population, and its a delight. Despite all the stupid, nonsensical bullshit women put up with I'm so happy to be a girl.
