We know, bigoted christians suck. They suck so bad. But why will people who don't follow christianity and do not have bad experiences with the RELIGION itself, complain when it is portrayed?Â
I bring this up because while I was heading to church to support my friend before we went to do something fun, my big sibling sees a giant cross in a field. My big sibling gave me a side eye with a snort and starting talking about how it was dumb and crazy christians follow this so closely.Â
I personally thought it was...Normal? Like, we are heading to a CHURCH, there will be imagery of the religion said church follows? And they wouldn't say the same thing about, say, Hellenism? Paganism? Other *mainstream* religions that don't follow Jesus? What is Jesus but a deity? And why do some act like following this deity is horrible?
Now, I am not that religious. And if anything, I am polytheistic and follow the belief that Deities only exist because we as beings give them the energies to do so, and therefore anyone can belief in anything. I love learning about different religions and debating about it, and it bothers me a lot that people can just be so straight-up hateful to the religion itself.Â
I do not talk about the ones with trauma regarding their christian oriented experiences. They are completely in the right to avoid it and show indifference to the whole thing. This is not targeted, I just think, and think and think, until I have to rant about it. Thank you for listening to me ^_^
