WAXWORK
(1988)
Are you bored with horror movie endings that make sense? Looking for some Ash Williams style one liners without the quotability? Have you ever watched such classics as Night of the Living Dead and thought "Okay, that's all well and good, but where is the BDSM"? Don't you worry. Waxwork is here for you. It is a bit like an anthology movie, with characters being pulled into different movies entirely to be slaughtered. Well, not movies, more accurately they are pulled into different gruesomely-themed wax exhibits. But then again, who cares about the "how" or the "why"? I'm personally more interested in the elaborate vampire dinner party scene or the black and white classic zombie movie segment. And the ending? I don't want to spoil it for you, dear reader, but just imagine if The Cabin in the Woods was good. This movie was director Anthony Hickox's debut, and I think he knocked it out of the park. Thinking of putting Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat on my list. I've become more of a sucker for Westerns recently. We'll see how it is.
"...It's such a small world!"
"Well, then why do you want to end it?"
"Somebody has to."
(That line made me laugh. What are you talking about. "Somebody has to." Who told you that?)
