Kuchisake Onna/ slit-mouthed woman

Hello! This is my first actual blog TW: contains slight violence and mentions of @buse

the source I use to share these folktales is yokai.com! (and multiple YouTube videos)

You are walking through a road in Japan by yourself. You feel isolated but that feeling of isolation is calming to some. Suddenly a woman with a mask covering her mouth appears from behind you and asks you a rather strange question...

Woman: am I beautiful? 私は美しいですか?

You either have two choices: saying yes, or no. Now let's see the effects of your choice.

Choice one: you answer yes

if you respond with yes, the woman will take off her mask. Behind the mask is a bloody slit. going from one ear to the other. She will ask you if she is beautiful once more. If you answer yes again, she will leave you alone for a bit...but then she will target your home and kill ya

Choice two: you answer no

if you respond with no, the woman will slit your mouth open leaving you to look like her.

Choice three: outsmart

You can also outsmart Kuchisake Onna by asking her questions or throwing candy (or other distractions at her) this gives you enough time to run off and hide so you don't die.

Origin

Though it isn't 100% confirmed yet but, The Kuchisake Onna is rumored to be the spirit of an abused wife, abused captive or a spirit of an unliving enemy. In the 20th century, Kuchisake Onna sightings peaked all over Japan.

The end thank you!!
