Daylight savings makes us lose an hour in the spring, then gain an hour in the fall. You could say that we "spring forward" an hour and "fall back" an hour. I don't understand why daylight savings is a thing, I could research it, but I don't care that much.
But what I do care about is that one year, 2009, time fell back on Halloween night. As such, Halloween was extended by one hour. I'm sure it's happened before, it's probably happened since. But it should be that way every year. Not only will it be an easy way to remember when we fall back, but it will make Halloween an even more special night. It deserves an extra hour.
And to make things even spookier, every digital clock on that is set to 12-hour format should be programed to go from 12:59PM to 13:00PM, with the proper following minutes until 13:59Pm, after which it goes back around to 1:00AM, every October 31st and only on that day.
