I'm trying to get into more music since I've spent my whole life afraid of leaving my comfort zone. So here are six albums I have recently listened to as a way to come out of my shell, and my thoughts on them (I'm no music critic, quite the opposite. These are all personal opinions based on my own tastes and preferences, not on if these are good or not objectively!):
I really enjoyed this album!! I had been putting off Acid Bath for years and I wish I didn't and listened to them sooner, because this album was very nice and puts me in a fun mood. I love this kind of stuff for drives and when I'm writing. My favorite track is "Bleed Me an Ocean."
This was recommended to me by a random internet stranger hehe, honestly this album didn't string many chords with me. The vocals are a little too whiny for my liking (same reason I dislike blink-182...). I tried to like it, but only a few tracks were somewhat enjoyable for me. My favorite track is "My Bloody Valentine."
To be honest I had never actually heard this band's name until recently, which is so horrible I can't believe I didn't know T_T !!! Anyways I found "Justify" in a random Spotify playlist and decided to listen to the full album. I feel like such a dummy haha, my mom raised me around this type of music so I obviously knew "False Pretense" and "Face Down," but I didn't know the names nor who made it, so you can imagine my delighted surprise when both songs played. I love this album it's very nostalgic for me even if I didn't know their name. My favorite track is "Justify."
Similar boat as the previous album, found it in a random Spotify playlist. I have not heard a single song from this album, however. I really liked the instrumentals for these songs. Perfect album for getting ready in the early morning. I plan on listening to their other albums, especially because this one wasn't that interesting for me, sadly. I hope I like their other stuff a little more. My favorite track is probably "Never Meant To Break Your Heart."
GOD this one hurts my heart because I really really wanted to like it, but for some reason I just found myself so bored listening to it :((( I really loved the vocals! That was my favorite part, but often they were very quiet and it kind of killed it for me. I also prefer faster paced songs and this album was pretty slow at times. The faster songs though were super enjoyable, I just wish I also enjoyed the slower ones too. I'm hoping if I listen to it more over time it will end up growing on me, I will update if that is the case. My favorite track is "Brackish."
Let's end this off on a good note. This album is beautiful and amazing, oh my God.. I had "Judith" in my playlist for years and just now I finally listened to this album SMH. Definitely going to listen to the other albums, this was just such a beautiful listen for me. I could fall asleep to these songs haha. My favorite track is "The Hollow."
It was lots of fun writing and making this entry!! I want to do this more ^.^ !!
