my honest thoughts on "A Work of Art" by Ice Nine Kills

metalcore outfit INK has just released "A Work of Art", which was a song created for the movie Terrifier 3. i've got to be honest, for a band that used to be known for quite terrifying harsh vocals + majestic cleans? this just isn't it. 

it's bland, it's boring, it's like there's no product quality because nothing hits. they've 100% been trying to commercialize their sound ever since the release of Welcome To Horrorwood 2 and it's not great at all. the breakdowns don't hit, the chorus doesn't hit. a metal song's supposed to be a bumpy road, and this road's been paved to be fully straight.

i do, however, appreciate the mixing quality on this one aswell as how they've experimented with deathcore-style breakdowns but honestly? if i was making one of the most brutal horror movies of all time, i'd just hire whitechapel instead.

6/10, it's whatever, the normies r gonna love this one
