So far so good. Knocked out the progress photo early. Had a nice long hike with my son this morning and finally finished the full loop of the trail we've been working on. Not all the trails in that park there are a ton more that are much longer so we will start working on those. I did not meet the goals for my second workout the walk to pick up my kiddo from school. Several factors working againsts me. I got out the door way later than I wanted because of unexpected sidequests that were last minute and unskippable.
On the way to the school I did add a bit of distance but when I startd back home my daughter was on her scooter. This had the intended effect of me having a jog home to increase my difficulty, that's great. The plan was to ask her if she wanted to scoot some more so I could knock out the 45 minutes required. All was going well until my phone rang. A potential employer called to do an initial phone interview so I had to land back at the house and get my daughter settled. So technically I need to do about 10 more minutes of a workout but according to the rules that won't count it has to be all uninterupted so I would need to do another 45 minute workout. Unforunately I won't be able to make that happen tonight after work. I have to run some clothes to my Mom in her nursing home then get to bed early enough to get my kids to school tomorrow.
While prepping for tomorrows video interview I forgot my book at home in the mad rush to get to work on time. So tonight I have to read before bed and get 10 minutes of walking in. Technically I have failed and need to start day 1 again tomorrow which is the plan. I will still do the 10 minutes of extra walking or running or something tonight and get my reading in. I want to stay in the groove. I mena honestly I've already done more than an hour and a half of working out the hike was much longer. Some people would count this as meeting goals but part of t he challenge is having the discipline to get it all in no matter what. I'm sure I could just put an asterisk next to my log for the day and be good but on the other hand I'm only on day for so losing the streak now is so inconsequential that I may as well just start at day 1 so that's my final decision.
