COMIC STORY OPENING HELP!

So I've been writing this one story with the plan of turning it into a webcomic for a while now and I need some help with the story. So it's about a group of characters who investigate mysteries in their school often somewhat related to the paranormal and ghosts ( its been done before I know but this is a passion project of mine that has been in my head for a good few years now and the story's different I promise).

But anyways, I've been stuck on the beginning. The main character can see ghosts and I originally planned for him to start seeing them after being in a fatal accident. I was thinking on the tube since it's set in London but I'm leaning away from that because I don't actually think fatalities on the tube are that common and I wanted it to seem like a more ordinary occurrence that could happen to anyone - but I might be wrong. But I'm unsure about how the comic should actually start. The story deals with some heavy issues later on so I was wondering if I should tie it into the beginning as well; like a suicide attempt where he tries to kill himself but comes back to life and also sees ghosts, I thought that might be interesting as well but I am also aware that that's quite a sensitive topic for the opening.

I don't know I've just been quite confused with all of this, I was meant to start publishing the comic a few weeks ago but then I started doubting the opening and here we are.
