I don't think it's just me because it's not. But games are "evolving" to something we all never wanted. Gatcha games, made the in game currency, and "loot box", it's just gambling for kids. Like don't get me wrong there's games like GTA, but you don't have to go to the Casino to progress through the game (online that is). The world of gaming is all starting to remove those hours we used to spend discovering everything, leveling, better equipment, or even with games like COD, attachment's, camo grinds, NEW WEAPONS. You didn't have to pay for a battle pass, maybe DLC, but that's extra content that you don't have to get. I feel like World of Warcraft has the game almost perfect, maybe $5 instead of $15.
Rambling is fun but gaming is changing.

As much as I love my steam copy of Portal and all my steam games. The fact that publishers can just yoink their games from me is pretty bullshit.
I'm not really expecting it to happen to me personally since my library is mostly source games or online free to play, but the idea of it is still uncool.

The more people buy into it, the more the companies are going to do it!
It really makes me mad that the majority of people are buying into it

It's just how it goes, some people are born into it, others just accept it. On the other hand you have us to secretly reek havoc on our keyboards.

i agree, honestly its so sad to see. gaming should be about actually having fun without buying ANYTHING. but now especially big corps have caught wind of the gacha system and now almosy every game has gacha. no matter if its a horror, rpg or romance game. theres guaranteed to be some gacha in it just for the companies to make more bucks. it's not about making the user enjoy the experience once they buy the game once anymore, its to put necessary purchases in there and marketing to tempt them to get a certain character or a certain weapon so they spent big bucks. i do really hope this phases out but by looking at it, it probably wont be anytime soon.

It's sad to see but we can still play some of those oldies, thanks to emulation and other things ;) glad to see someone else agrees!
