Drowning.

Overwhelming darkness floods my vision. 

My mind is vacant, my limbs desperately fighting against the inky void in vain as it drags me deeper. 

I take a breath. The darkness fills my lungs. 

In this moment, all I know is pain. 

Pain in my burning eyes. 

Pain in my pounding head. 

Pain in my convulsing lungs. 

Pain in my weary limbs.

And then.

It stops.
