Yet again, another marine creature and not exactly a fish... Today's sea creature is the BARNACLE!
Barnacle facts:
- Barnacles are crustaceans, and they are related to crabs and shrimp!
- Barnacles produce a natural glue to stick themselves to surfaces like rocks, boats, and wharves. It's very strong... according to NOAA, some companies are finding ways to use it commercially!
- These creatures are regularly exposed to air due to the tide, or the structure they're stuck on getting moved around. When this happens, they close those little beak-looking things to conserve moisture!
- some people eat them!!
Okay, thats pretty much it. Do you got that barnacle in you? I'd really hope not, cause there's a parasitic species known as the rhizocephalan barnacle. You don't want a parasite!!!! But, spiritually (telepathically?), i think we all have a barnacle in us
