B-Movie Enema started in 2014 when I realized that I had scores of movies in these cheap-o packs that I wasn't doing anything with. So I decided to get some use out of them and create a "live blog" experience. After creating only six entries, I didn't do anything for almost a year and a half. Then, one morning, I woke up to the old, defunct Roku channel Bizarre TV playing the Mexican horror film The Brainiac, and the fire was lit again. Since, I've done over 290 more articles since that March 2016 morning.
Aside from that live blog feel, I originally drew from two inspirations - Mike Stoklasa of Red Letter Media and James Rolfe, the Angry Video Game Nerd. As I continued to evolve as a blogger about these strange and nearly forgotten movies, I soon found that I have mostly become inspired by Brad Jones (The Cinema Snob) and, like him, approach these usually bad movies from a place of appreciation and love.
Over the years, I helped get the Roku channel OtherWorlds TV, a love letter to Bizarre TV after the unfortunate passing of Rhonda Baffes, curator and owner of Bizarre TV, off the ground. This opened up another opportunity - doing something B-Movie Enema related on OWTV. Thus, at the beginning of 2021, B-Movie Enema: The Series was born. Calling on two more inspirations, Joe Bob Briggs and Mystery Science Theater 3000, I figured out a way to show, not the common horror movies most hosts would do, but a wide range of oddities. I try my best to either educate people with tidbits of knowledge or entertain them with tidbits of goofiness. Season One ran from January 2 through March 27, 2021. Season Two started on September 11 and wraps on December 25, 2021. Season Three will come along later in the summer of 2022.
This December 10th, B-Movie Enema will be celebrating 300 articles! In addition to that and closing down the second season of the show, I will be looking for even more opportunities to stretch out and try more ways to keep bringing the goods with B-Movie Enema. For now, here are some links for you:
