A poem from 2019 by me

By the bedroom window my gaze's confined.
My eyes don't look at the
but at what is behind.

There, I see the soft bedding of greyish clouds
and the rays from the evening sun escape,
away from the dull concrete landscape.

Here,
the canvas of the window is white
and the air, so humid my lungs expire
There,
on the other side I imagine a field that I require
where the breeze is fresh and the air is light

Oh, to climb out of this hole called home,
to run from this maze called a city.
To disconnect from the binding norm
and grasp my freedom,
let go of forced responsibility.

If behind the window cloth is no field
I will climb even further to the sun,
to the land
where the breeze carries me away...
Forever Goodday

I wanted to share this poem that was written in my diary 5 years ago. I quickly translated and edited it to English (from Dutch), just for fun :)
If 10 year old me finds out I shared this, I would choke me lolol
