grounded in moral Orel is my fav episode and why

 in the process of being rewritten!!! this is so shit OMG. also spoilers for the episode and kind of the show you have been warned :P

Grounded is my favorite episode because I LOVE how they show how Orel is so tied to his faith and he develops religious psychosis. BUTT what IS religious psychosis and how does that happen to Orel in that episode!?!?!?! I'll actually tell you right now. Religious psychosis are kind of like delusions or hallucinations someone may experience that has to do with religion(ermm delusions and correct me if I'm wrong are false things that someone may FULLY believe is true like a delusion might be that the government is constantly watching someone through devices and may avoid them no matter how many times its proven to be false, and for orels case he fully believes that he will go to hell since he cant go to church, and the visions he gets when he's unconscious makes them worse.). For starters, Orel lives in an environment (specifically his home life) where they are VERY religious. mostly cause the lost commandments is a thing and I know that they lean to being Protestant but come awn man that's gyatta be cult-ish or something 0_0 anyway since church is a very important part in orels life (yeah the show kind of revolves around the church in some way if you think about it. in the intro for almost every episode its Orel waving while sitting in the pews at church!!!! he's so jolly but ANYWAY) having clay "ground him" from going to church is going to be a SERIOUS thing and he knows it !! where religious psychosis comes into play is when he slowly descends into madness, with him being in an isolated room making his own fake church to pray to. after he gets struck by lightening after trying to become the church himself, he's either in heaven or hell (I actually have NO idea) and he's afraid that he might go to hell because of """"SOUL INSURANCE""""" and going to church is the only way he can prevent it. WHO'S the cause of this?? clay puppington-kun!!!! just kidding I really hate clay because he's such a horrible person because he threw away the church Orel set up in the room and that's what led him to yk... force himself to practically BECOME the church ;;===;; anyway he only got those visions when he got struck by lightening so he does it MORE and he actually almost ends up dying. ONE of my favorite parts was when he was almost describing what he saw and the people around his hospital was GASPING and clay interrupted him (sigma clay W /j I embarrass myself so much)

now I think its heartless how his dad banned him from going to CHURCH???? i'll touch more on that when I feel like it but anyway you can obviously see how that's making Orel CRAZY like I know bathing in the blood of virgins is insane but banning Orel from going to church,, something he loves THE most will OBVIOUSLY mess him up emotionally;-; and then when they tell Orel that going to church gives them soul insurance is when like he went into religious psychosis!!! I THINK

now when his family like leaves to go to church he is OBVIOUSLY uncomfortable cuz you can see him kinda scratching his hand !!! so like fast-forward a few days HE IS SO PARANOID ABOUT GOING TO HELL HE DRAWS A CHURCH AND PRAYS TO IT...  and then he has a near death experience being struck by lightening and RELIGIOUS PSYCHOSIS!!! now I have no idea if he is actually in hell or in heaven or somewhere (idk), but IM PRETTY SURE HE THINKS THAT GOD WONT ALLOW HIM INTO HEAVEN BECAUSE OF THAT STEWPID "soul insurance"!!!! so in a state of religious psychosis, he thinks that God is trying to tell him something so he tries to electrocute himself!!!! multiple times!!! I mean after like those visions or how you wanna call them, he THINKS HE's THE CHURCH!!! after doing it so much the six people around his bed thought that he died!!! now idk what heaven looks like but I'm pretty sure what Orel described was hell- or what people think hell is!!! so I think in a state of religious psychosis (again) he tried to commit suicide because he was convinced God was trying to tell him something ;-; and HOW did this happen?!?!?!?! my beloved, clay :33333 he's a horrible person and i'd hate his guts if he were alive.. but I know he's got good in his heart!!! 

anyway one of the BIGGEST reasons why grounded is my favorite episode is because Orel says this,,, which Is: "I'll never do THAT with THOSE in THERE for that LONG ever again!" and then clay invites him to go on a father son trip, which is one of my favorites as well?? AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A DIRTY JOKE AND MY BRAIN SKIMMED OVER IT!!! I really like almost all of the episode  after the nature one because they go back in time (sorta) 0_o  since this was 4 weeks prior!!! now I could go more into the nature episode but since this is focusing on grounded, let me know if you want me to talk abt it more ;-;

a few things to add:    

Orel looks like a FUCKING ANIMAL when he's insane (which is obviously but holy shite?? he's 12 and he looks like he smoked and drank within a few years) 

now I also think he went into divine madness which I'm pretty sure is technically the same thing?? now it's obviously implied that he went into religious psychosis but I have to do more research on divine madness since it means and I QUOTE: "Divine madness, also known as theia mania and crazy wisdom, is unconventional, outrageous, unexpected, or unpredictable behavior linked to religious or spiritual pursuits." AND IM PRETTY SURE THATS WHAT HAPPENED TO OREL!! now it was obvious he wasn't acting like himself and was doing "unpredictable behavior", like putting a plus sized cross on his head and UNPREDICTABLY GETTING ELECTROCUTED!
