Fish of the Day 5 - I got that hawg in me

OKAY THIS IS A SILLY ONE, I ONLY CHOSE IT FOR THE NAME AND I NEVER HEARD OF THIS CREATURE BEFORE LUL

The hogfish is a very peculiar type of fish that gets it's name from it's snout!!

Hogfish facts

- It's interestingly shaped snout helps it forage for food, these fish use it to dig through sand!

- Like many other fish species, the hogfish has the ability to change it's gender after a certain point throughout it's life. Hogfish are always born female. Creatures with this unique ability are labeled as "protogynous hermaphrodites"!

- They are bottom dwellers.

- Apparently, they taste so good that they're overfished in some areas. I wouldn't know though, cause personally "hogfish" doesn't sound too appetizing... so I doubt i'll ever try one! (Sorry to judge, hogfish!!)
