you may contest this statement by reminding me i am literally on Spacehey and Tumblr. you have a point. What I mean by this is that I used to spend as much time as possible online- I would come home every day in middle school and hop on my puter. I was very much chronically online. My MOST chronically online was, pretty understandably, during the covid pandemic. I was 14-16 and Extremely immersed in the internet and fandom (the dsmp specifically DONT KILL ME I WASNT ONE OF THE EVIL TWITTER ONES) I was on tiktok and even went semi-viral once. My fandom interest faded mid-sophmore year, and by junior year I had left all mainstream social medias aside from Discord. Just Spacehey, Discord, and Tumblr.
This is when I beleive 'chronically online' shifted. I matured and developed my own thoughts, and at the same time chronically online spaces shifted primarily to Tiktok and Twitter above anywhere else online. I was on neither of these sites.
I have barely any online friends anymore. I talk to my irl friends via the internet, and that's it! I still spend a lot of time online, but not Chronically as I once was. I now have a bigger interest in old web spaces, which is why I'm here, and why I have my own website on Neocities! I think the mainstream internet is very much poisoned by advertisers (google enshittification to learn about how specifically) and now is getting poisoned further by AI. That's why I love Spacehey and Tumblr! (tumblr's slowly going down the drain and they have like 20 employees left keeping it afloat but while it lasts its been great).
My views have shifted to mainly trying to be empathetic and respectful to all people, yes even horrible people are still people, and all my other views/opinions come from that. I have a big social life offline, and now just use the internet to enhance that and use it as a creative outlet!
that is all :3 farewell and ty for reading!

After my school switched to "devices" (microsoft surfaces pro and gos) my chronically online-ness has increased. i basically said goodbye to any productivity that i may have had before, and just play facebook candy crush and spacehey and stuff during class (i really wish they switched back to books)
