alternative being a cool thing to do and my opinion on it

I hate that being alternative is a 'cool' thing to do now.

what I mean is: people are a part of certain subcultures bc its 'aesthetic' and 'cool' now and not because they share the passion for it (music, beliefs, etc.)

I hate it that became fashionable, because most of alt subcultures are about originality, diy, expressing yourself; now that its fashionable many brands (like shein) are mass producing clothing that are supposed to be that style and everyone is buying it and it basically denys the whole fucking point.

call me an elitist, idgaf, thats what I think.

also, sexualization of many subcultures (goth, for example) is a huge fucking problem too, but Im gonna talk about it another time, if I feel like it.
