All New Dog Updates (compilation)

I'm making a blog of all the dog updates I've posted on the bulletins as sort of a compilation.

Day 1:

Found a lost puppy walking in the street today. We drove all around our block to see if we could find the owner(s), but no such luck. Took her to the pound and found that she had no micro-chip, she also had too small off a chain collar that the vet literally had to cut it off with bull cutters. We got to take her home in a temporary housing program. We get to keep her for 5 days to see if the owners will come looking for her, if not, we get to make a decision to keep or not. I really hope we can keep her, she has bonded with me so quickly and I love her. I named her Precious and I'll keep y'all updated.

Day 2:

Precious (our new pup) has been doing much better today than yesterday. For one, she ate all of her food today. Two, she got along slightly better with our other 2 dogs today. And three, she did better getting into her kennel. She's very hyper in the morning and playful, but also pretty tame. She got a bath today and was calmer in the tub than our other dogs, and easily adapted to her new environment. Although she's scared of the vacuum, and whines a lot when she's in her kennel or when I leave her for a few minutes. I believe she has separation anxiety, and because she's bonded with me the most, she doesn't like me leaving her even for a little bit. I hope she gets better adjusted to everything, and I hope we can keep her. I plan on doing more end off the day updates on her.

Day 3:

Today Precious got to go to the dog park. She did quite well, although at times she seem overwhelmed with all the dogs near the water bowl. She mostly just followed me or hid behind me. She's seems to be getting used to the name I gave her, and listening to commands. At home she's gotten more comfortable with our other to dogs, and doing things like coming onto m bed. Though today she had some potty accident, it wasn't anything we haven't handled before. Tonight I was on face-time with my BF and joking that he was her father and I was her mother. On face-time I was reading a book out loud, and Precious fell asleep beside me and started snoring. It was the cutest thing. I overheard my parents talking about keeping her, I really hope we can. I offered that if they let me get a job this month, I'll help pay for Precious' vet bills and dog food. We'll see what happens in the next few days until Friday, I shall keep you all updated.

Day 4:

Nothing much happened yesterday, except that a tornado drill went off and Precious started freaking out and whing that I wasn't with her. She also is getting used to her kennel, she goes in easier and isn't whing as much. I think we're planning on keeping her, my parents are already talking about getting her a name tag. I'm SO glad we might be able to keep her when the 5 day period is up. My parents said that if I clean my room, Precious can sleep in my bed when we officially adopt her. Sorry I didn't write this update last night, I fell asleep.

Last Day + Exciting Update:

Well yesterday was our last day of the foster arrangement with Precious. She got to go to the dog park and meet all kinds of new dogs. She did get in trouble for ripping up my brother's new shoes, my mom's shoes, and a book. I don't understand why she did it, she hasn't done it any other day because she has her chew toys. Today was the day we had to get her neutered and chipped because GUESS WHAT! We're officially adopting Precious!! I'm so happy I could die. She won't be home until early evening, I already miss her, it's weird not having her follow me around the house. I can't wait for her to come home. Just came with Precious after getting her neutered. She is so mellow and so out of it because of the drugs they had to give her. She can't really eat or drink to much but she got a little food in her. She's finding it hard to walk with her cone on, I have to lift it a little for her to move. Right now she's standing next to the couch I'm laying on, staring of into the distance. It's kinda funny. I'm so glad that she's now officially apart of our family.
