I don't and I can't understand why you have removed a major feature from this website, when there are other solutions to solve the issue here that you just won't use for x reasons.
Layouts, your own unique layout is like a big part of this whole website. Not everyone can code, those who can usually want to share their creations, but now they can't.
If a mod sees this, I really want to know why you have removed layouts for this long. (Don't answer that you did it because of the gore,Β an actual reason if there is one.)
Will you ever add it back?
Why can't you IP-ban people who are ruining this website and taking away the most active users?

I'd say if there are layouts an or a mod would have to approve of them before the get posted publically

thats not a feasable option. Spacehey has hundreds of thousands of users and the mods are volunteers with lives and jobs of their own. It'd take ages to manually process them and users wouldnt WANT to wait for them to be processed.

People don't post 10 layouts every minute, it's fine. I think people would be willing to wait rather than have layouts removed (a major feature)

it's pretty hard to check every single layout. It's better just to post layouts on blogs or different sites and let the mods figure out what they want to do.

Just have a cooldown between layout uploads then?
The amount of layout creators is small enough that a simple waitlist may not even be necessary.

3. Privacy, GDPR view IP's as personal data, have to log IP's to block them. Also vpn's are a thing
Damn, yeah I did think about the VPN thing but I don't think that the people who pull that stuff use VPNs unless they're the free ones. Hope the layouts come back soon though.

i donβt see why itβs such a problem - thereβs thousands on there already, i donβt think weβve lost anything revolutionary from it being disabled for a few months. if u canβt write ur own css, use a layout thatβs already there, and ask a friend to help u if ur really really struggling!! (not directed at u op, j in general c:) sure it would be nice to have it back, but i donβt think itβs that important

I literally just joined today and while I was able to add some features many keep getting blocked and will not let me post. Kinda sucks, I got super excited about this site and bringing back so many memories from middle and high school. Hopefully they come up with a better resolution. Customization on myspace was what made it so freaking iconic. Here's to hoping <3

i mean the layouts tab is sort of redundant though don't you think? why have a separate area of the site for posting layouts when it can just be a blog? people can get a visual on the layout through inline images or through direct styling of the blog post, and you can use the "code" html tag to show the code inline for copying and pasting. (not trying to start anything btw! just sharing thoughts)

what if we all just collectively had a different site where you could post them? kind of like the winamp museum but it'd be more organized. i feel like it's a somewhat costly situation to a minor problem but it might be the only option.. unless we used something like tumblr or twitter to post them?. i don't know, there'd have to be some kind of communication hub to sort things like this out.
there could also be disc servers dedicated to layouts.. that'd be kinda cool.
I use Tumblr, but I would much rather post them on here since there is the option to do that. Well, at least was.

understandable.. i don't think we'll ever get layouts back without there being a full mod team for spacehey and they need money for that. i'm grateful for what we've been given, but god do i wish some improvements could be made regarding the whole layouts scandal.
the tumblr thing is smart though. it could become a larger community if more people knew about it.

U could have like a neocities or smth where u could upload layouts by hosting the preview images on other hots (like we do on spacehey) and the layout code on rentry

!! there were lots of webhosting sites back in the day where people would upload myspace layout codes for people to use, someone would just have to set up a site for spacehey layout templates to be uploaded and organized

Ppl shouldn't have to make a website to post layouts on, when it can be done here. The gore spam can't really be stopped ig unless there's a verification system so I just want the layouts back.

Seeing how there's been lots of bots that bypass the human verification system, it's just another suggestion if An and other mods don't plan on opening up the layout uploads again. The layouts also need a better sorting system too as it's a bit hard to sort through layouts with a tagging system thats not too up to date.
