I realize that I could probably use my skills in writing for something cool and beneficial for me, as a way to challenge myself to write about more diverse topics and to make some extra money, how would writing commisions sound?

Oh absolutely. I think you should do it. Also may I give you some writing advice good sir? (I love writing and giving advice to help people ^w^)
