The Substance, watch it

The Substance by Coralie Fargeat is the movie of the year!!1!! It had such an incredible and clear  point to make and it made it well. No expense was spared in terms of acting, screenplay, editing, effects, coloring, score, etc, a true amalgamation of all things needed for a personal artistic success. Fargeat wasn't trying to prove herself with this movie, she didn't have to show her directorial capabilities or "take a risk" with a genre film, she simply has the sauce!!! It flowed straight from her heart, wearing its influences on its sleeve (welcome back Brundlefly). Nailed and reinvigorated American-nostalgia-creature-feature-hags-ploitation. Demi Moore was the absolute perfect choice for the role despite it being so far from her typical work. A has-been actress once beloved for her beauty and body (which was very much still there!!!) cast aside as she aged, now lonely as she put her whole life into a career staked on what the world would prove to be a fleeting gift. The third act is something that can't be missed if you love horror and more specifically body horror. Fargeat delivered a no holds barred finale that will be remembered as a love letter to the disgusting. See this movie please, I left the theater feeling like I got off a roller coaster.
