I really love psychobilly and horror punk music. I decided to create a blog sharing a bunch of my favorite international artists (outside the U.S.) in a zine-esque, review-style format. If you like it leave a comment and stuff so I can keep doing it and not scream into a void :3
If you're interested here's some places to start around the world, and I'll start sharing some really cool stuff all from the same country in a separate post...
1. The Krewmen (UK)
Wild guitars, frantic vox, and all the vocal hiccups you could want in a psychobilly band. They really are hot! They could not stop being one of the best to ever do it. Check out "The Adventure of The Krewmen" or "Into The Tomb"
Best Tracks: Wild Dogs of Zorberon, Curse of The Pharaoh, The Clock
2. Nekromantix (Denmark)
Nekromantix is truly a staple of psychobilly, up there with The Meteors and The Cramps. I don't know how they manage it, but the string-work on all fronts (guitar and bass) is astronomically quick and precise with the coolest phrasing known to any person or Dogwolf. They never cease to amaze with horror-fueled nonsense oozing with sensuality and power. What a great band.
Best Tracks: Horny in a Hearse, Haunted Cathouse, Alice in Psycholand
3. The Raters (Spain)
Here's a real modern one. The Raters really rip! If scratchy female vocals are your thing, then I just found your next favorite band. I really like how they seem to "jump" on chords the bounciness realyl gets to you after a while once your brain starts shaking like a smoothie or something. I really like them.
Best Tracks: Bad Guy (yes, a Billie Eilish cover), Big Banana
4. The Brains (Canada)
One more for ya, then go listen to them so I can keep going deeper. The Brains are a big favorite of my freinds. They have a good go at mashing hardcore elements into the slick psychobilly mold. They've played all over and made a killing.
Best Tracks: I'm Your Nightmare, She Wolf, The Monster Within
