When darkness rolls on you,
push on through
To err is human, errare humanum est.
Even when there are no mistakes you can see, sometimes, life just goes wrong. Especially if you struggle with mental issues or disabilities. Life is not equal and that fucking sucks.
Mental health has never been in the spotlight as it is now, with social media being an almost omnipresent phenomenon in almost all of our lives. Everyone has thoughts and opinions about it and you will most likely let it get to your head. Because I know you.
You desperately want to be "normal" and fit in with people, despite knowing that you don't and never will. People describe struggles familiar to you to the dot, which makes you feel less alone. However, the solutions offered never seem to work.
Dear little human, you are not someone else. You are not that tiktok commenter and you are not that person on reddit. You are not the person you came across on twitter and you are not the two hour youtube essay.
All of those things might be manmade, but they are not human. They are digital reminders of humans that you do not know. A comment, a post, a photo, a video, a podcast; whatever you can think of, it is not human. It is merely a piece of someone they chose to share.
You are a whole human being. EVERYTHING you experience is who you are.
Life has been sucky lately. Not much is going on; you're just in a darker place again. Times like these are the times you need to listen to YOUR mind and YOUR body. Not those aesthetic little wonyoungism videos on tiktok (oh no no don't even think about it gurl💜).
It's a time where it's OKAY to take a step back and use everything you have to PUSH ON THROUGH. You don't owe the world anything. You're disabled; don't forget that you are just because others don't see it.
Dear me, or dear person reading this, it's okay to feel like shit. You don't need a reason. You feel the way you feel and that is okay. Take care of yourself first and foremost. Whatever that may look like.
