AI art debate

Does anyone else think just the fact that we are having the debate is so cool? Technology is advancing so quickly in such a short period of time and I think it's really awesome (in some ways)...

In saying this, I don't like AI art, or the fact that AI can generate images or videos at all. People are a lot more concerned about artists "being replaced" by AI, which is not going to happen. The majority of people will eventually realize AI art doesn't have any soul or meaning to it. I think we have a much larger problem with AI porn, that shit can ruin people's lives with just an image of their face, and it will get a lot worse as time goes on. In South Korea, deepfake porn has been used for blackmail (especially against underaged girls) to the point where they passed a bill making it illegal last Thursday (Sept. 26, 2024).

 I rarely see posts "calling out" AI porn but I see a ton of posts about AI art and art being stolen, which is definitely a problem too, but it makes me upset that people seem more concerned about their drawing being stolen than people's lives being in danger
