DIY blog (WIP)

alright so ive been gettimg into DIY shit a bit more, have been for the past few months and here is some of my most recent projects and what i used//where i got my material and my inspiration, some future plans etc! sorry for sentences not making sense or being fumbled i wrote this not sober and am sober editing

so for this bag i got it from my roommate because he didnt wear it anymore, i got pins from a small alternative shop in my town and i made the patch myself and ive sewn it on with tooth floss because that makes it hold more and makes it very strong

now these are my pants! they were skater pants from pull&bear or whatever they were called, they originally were long pants and i did a shitty job at sewing them again, i used the fabric i cut off from the legs for some patches, some of these arw older tho and probably from older pairs of pants or something too
on the first image there is a thetadelta and a radioactive trans suporting patch, and a salitos pin that i made!

on this image its three patches, one that is the proxy symbol, another one whichs design i took from tumblr that says invest in public transport and a 161 (antifa) patch, then an ACAB pin that i also bought at the local alternative shop because theyre cheap n cool

heres a jacket ive been working on for a little bit, a thetadelta, the front bottoms logo, a very shitty rail yard ghosts patch and an AJJ patch! this used to be a hoodie that i cut open meaning no zipper nothing yet- and i wanna figure something out for the sleeves and the back as those are currently bare asf

now the love of my life that i also hate, my hat! anarchy patch is off center, cant steal this hat again cuz they changed what they sell like a year ago or two, the rain fucks this patch regularly and it randomly turns blue?? then i have some more pins i bought from the alt store and one i made myself! the pins are always a reflection of my personal belief and they tie into my identity and the support i have for my friends identities same with my patches! the radioactive trans patch was made in mind of my trans friends and was heavily inspired by smthn i saw on pintrest

and heres like the only photo i have of my old pants, the same 161 patch, that the front bottoms patch that im still looking for and i still wear that necklace and the tails :) so my DIY love has been around for a bit but i just got lazy for a while

i do like to design my patches before i make em!

there is obviously inspo being taken for these from pintrest, tumblr and my friends! ive also asked my friends for patch ideas n shit even tho they usually dont really help- i also dont only DIY for myself but for everyone! if one of my friends trades me something ill make em smthn or i like to hand out patches at pride events if i remember to carry them with me, especially the queer ones obviously as they are very well liked although i do have to admit some of these sketches are fucking shitty

now i do have some more future plans that arent just the things on this blog so not my pants or the hoodie or anything but i do want to make some dresses for my plushies and i want to get a dog plushy and make a punk vest for it since i think thatd be pretty cool, i want to make myself a vest too (well "Vest" since id give it short sleeves so it wouldnt be a vest) but that can wait a bit since i need to get the material and design shit too
but for now im mainly just going to continue on my pants and jacket, and make a fuck ton of pins to hand out and maybee sell?

again im gonna add some small tutorials once im home so probably in a few hours :)

here is also some items i use or recommend to use

for patches:

for sewing i personally use floss, normal string is okay but id use a thicker one, or you can use fishing line since that literally will not break, if it breaks then wtf are you doing with ur patches because that shits sturdy coming from someone who fishes
for the paint on my patches its just acrylic mixed w a bit of fabric softener but im going to invest in textile medium soon as i need smthn better, leftover hair dye or bleach (not pure bleach but mixed with water and in a ventilated room) should work too but ive not yet done this but i know people who have and it looks great! for fabric i use every random scrap of fabric i can get my hands on, i cut off the legs from some pants and used the rest fabric, old shirts and pants, hell you can use bedding too dosent matter

for pins:

im going to make some more pins later and take some photos so ill be able to show you guys how to do this shit but i use bottle caps of like any drink so spezi, beer or whatever else uses these bottle caps, i sometimes get em off the floor too it dosent matter
then pop can tabs and safety pins, i spray paint the pins black and usually print out designs but you can just paint onto them too, some people use modpodge but you can use clear spray paint too clear nail polish only works with acrylic paint not with printed shit, but if you paint it on with like acrylics it dosent really matter because its already water proof-ish, now this image is why you shouldnt use clear nail-polish with printed shit because the image//text smears but else this shows (minus the safety pin) how i assemble my pins, i use super glue (not neccesary) and a pair of pliers i took from my grandpas workstation (he has two no worries)
