YAPPING #1
So, I have a theory about ADHD. I just kinda shat this thing out in a conversation one time, and I don't really believe it but here it is.
What if it's not an imbalance in brain chemistry? What if it's actually something that humans evolved? ADHD does stop you from being able to focus properly on things you aren't really interested in, but you can hyperfocus and keep interest in something for hours at a time as well.
In our hunter & gatherer days, the main thing we thought about was food & survival. Two very important things. If ancient humans with ADHD hyper focused on hunting & gathering food for hours straight without getting tired or wanting to give up, their chances of starving were most likely lowered.
ADHD also improves pattern recognition according to many people with the disorder (including me), and this ability would improve our ability to recognize animals & hunt them, as well as spotting edible food.
In conclusion, this theory is most likely not true, and I kinda just wanted to see people's reaction. I have no idea how my brain shat this thing out, but I mean it sounds intelligent so that's good.
