introductory school trip

Yeah it was built back during like the cold war, it was just a wooden structure with a tarp over it. I am not complaining it was just kinda funny and something we humoured ourselves with.

Now to actually complain, the activities were kinda dogshit. There were a lot of introductory lectures on how the school works, where and when you can get help with studies or personal issues, lectures concerning security(because of a recent shooting) and lots of others where the teachers and other staff just talked for like 2 hours and the only breaks we really had were for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner and the program was just packed full with things you kinda had to attend.

Some other activities were of course meant to help us to get to know our new classmates, but they were kind of activities where you couldn't really talk to each other much anyways(like sports).

The best activity was when all official activities ended by like 9PM and we were free to do whatever. Most of us chose to drink (alcohol) or play tabletop games. It was too dark by then to play any sports even if you wanted to, so you really didn't have many options. My two friends from my last school were acting even more "anti-social"(i have social anxiety) (not even trying to talk to other people, but i can't exactly blame them most of the people there were kinda weird)(like a dude that just used the word "woman" as a derogatory term) than me so I tried joining a group playing a tabletop game I was completely unfamiliar with(no idea what it's called either). I was mildly drunk by then so i was just watching trying to stay quite as to not bother them trying to figure out the rules(only the girl who brought the game actually knew the game properly, the other players also weren't completely familiar with the rules). After watching them for a few minutes my friends asked me what the hell i was doing there so i explained i was (drunk)fascinated by the game (i also thought the girl was cute) and i explained the rules(figured out by watching) to them. We then proceeded to bet on who is going to win the next round of the game(I lost an equivalent of roughly two $quarters btw). Then I proceeded to join the game for a round and I did fairly well but ultimately lost and I think we went to sleep after that.

Ultimately i didn't really get any new friends and was kinda disappointed with how things turned out but that's life I guess:b (Also most people got new friends it's just because i am really bad at socializing)

It was fun in its own way and I learned a bunch of useful things and even got some (terrible) school merch out of it.
