TW (kind of)
I love Pinterest honestly, it's my favorite app to use other than Twitter. I could literally find almost anything I want on there. But a lot of people say that Pinterest is the nicest "social media" app.
I won't lie, they're sort of right? Most users I've seen are really nice, funny, and relatable honestly, especially if you've seen the whispers.
If you don't know what a whisper is, it's a app where you can get any background photo and put text on it. Pinterest users (who also call themselves "whisper girlies") screenshot their whispers and make a pin with them on Pinterest.
These whispers usually include memes and opinions, most of which are funny and true. But I have seen some things that made me look at the whisper side of Pinterest differently.
First of all, I see many sexiest whispers. I understand that this can be a trauma response, but it feels weird to post your hate for men on Pinterest of all apps.
Second of all, "toxic whisper girlies". Most of these are probably rage bait, but it's still just annoying and useless. Even the other type of rage baiters (boyfriends, dream smp "fans") who just say really gross and racist stuff for "bait" and pretend to be pr0shippers, like what.
Third of all, telling people to, let's say, commit "s3wer slide" is a bit normalized on the platform. This is mainly the Genshin Impact side of whispers. I like Genshin Impact, I think it's a good game but I despise the fanbase. So say you ship something that's not even a pr0ship, it's just half the community sees the two characters as a family. You tell people you like the ship, and people will just straight up tell you to end yourself, over fictional characters. It's just really weird and this is exactly why I feel the need to avoid the Genshin fandom and sometimes the game all together. Because it's either filled with gooners, or just insane people.
Pinterest in general can be kind of toxic without whispers too, I've seen fatph0bia and people hating xenogenders and neopronouns. It's just sad because I spend so much time on Pinterest. I feel like it was calmer at first, but as more people began making accounts, it slowly became toxic.
Like I said before, I'm not good at ranting, but I just wanted to share my little opinion (sorry if there are any typos aha)

KAMI!
Well honestly if we compare Pinterest with other popular platforms (especially TikTok) Pinterest would be the most chill platform yet cause like yknow most people just wanna get some ideas, not debate
