i have this friend. he's new and he's a guy, and i have no idea how my parents will react to me being friends with a guy. Not only is he a dude, he's a trans dude. his voice sounds kinda feminine and i have no idea how my parents would react to me being friends with a trans guy. maybe better than if he were a cis guy because he used to be a girl? i dunno. maybe worse because they might be secretly transphobic? i hope not. but we wanna do something this weekend and i have no idea how to respond to them when they ask who im going with. they've never heard of this guy since i dont tell them anything so if i tell them just his name they'll be like "who's that" and ill have to tell them "a guy im friends with" and they'll be like "you're friends with a guy? is he your boyfriend?" and i'll have to be like "ew no we're just friends" and then they'll doubt that and it's gonna be sooooooo awkward. what do i do

What does your friend prefer? I've had trans friends who would just boy/girl mode in that situation and others who want to be open about it. Whatever it is he wants, you have to respect and go through with. If you end up finding out your parents are transphobic, that's unfortunate but at least now you know
