IT WAS JUST AS AWESOME AS I THOUGHT ITD BE IT WAS GENUINELY SO FUCKING AMAZING
ok, the concert was on the 22nd this month and it rocked so much. me and jacob saw them in austin and we had absolutely no idea the austin show was their very last one of the whole tour this year. the drive was so insanely long like 8+ hrs, we were coming all the way from west texas and a drive from there to austin is so grueling but it was 1000% worth it. honestly just hanging with him for all those hours too was sick like he talks a lot and i love it genuinely it's the best. i dont talk a whole whole lot (def consider myself an extrovert though, just a pretty quiet one? i like my words to be like. additive, i guess. ill go full on ad-libber if im tweaked or something though ykwim)
but it was a super fun road trip for an even funner concert. dave bayley was amazing his energy was AMAZING the little alien guys narrating the show were awesome LOL, carl and that other little whatever its name was, so so cute. dave was going on and on about how "this is the last show and it's such an amazing way to end the show in our hometown, in texas, and so many of the songs are about growing up in texas, thank you austin" etc etc like just gushing about it, not verbatim but like seriously it just felt so good and so passionate and i felt so lucky not only getting to see glass animals but getting to see them where we did. i really seriously cannot thank jake enough for considering me as someone he'd like, buy a ticket for a drive down to austin with just for that dude i actually felt like i was floating i was gonna lose my mind. im so happy i don't even know what to say you know, it was 3 says ago and im still completely reeling about it.
i got a $100 poster and it was so worth it, a SIGNED poster by all 4 band members and it's just dude my hearts beating out my chest every time i remember how good of a time i had. literally how can i thank him??? the poster isn't even for the austin show those all sold out for sure but it was for houston, which... GOOD ENOUGH LOL
i could gush about it for ages literally forever and ever and ever im gonna remember this until i die. is like, post-concert depression a thing? LOL totally not to undermine depression or disorders or anything but it's just like. i feel like i never feel that high again, ykwimm????
the show was just great though, i hadn't watched like, any videos about it or anything i liked it to be a complete 100% surprise and it was so worth every single surprise the experience was astounding, obviously the tour was for their latest album ILYSFM (fan since ZABA, but it's really my first concert of theirs) and i did not expect them to start out with a track from HTBAHB??? I WAS GEEKEDD. jake said he thought it was just gonna be like performing all the songs off ILYSFM and maybe heat waves (obligatory, that was in the encore though ) and i definitely had a feeling they weren't gonna like, JUST play ILYSFM songs like i wouldn't have expected that, but they started with LIFE ITSELF AND I LITERALLY COULD NOT BE HAPPIERRRR I WAS IN TEARS DUDE.
the setlist ill say is different for austin because i think for the texas shows we got an extra song?? setlist.fm says the other shows got 15 and the tx ones had 16 (2 as the encore for both) and for tx shoes dave got in the pit and sang for gooey LOLL UGH JESUS FUCKING CHRIST IM JUST SO HAPPY. WHATEVER.
THANK JAKE AND AUSTIN AND GLASS ANIMALS AND MOODY CENTER AND EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY FOR EVERYTHING ive seriously never been happier. i have such a shitty 5 year old phone i took videos on and posted to twitter so if anyone wants to see those, my twitters linked on my spacehey lolll AAAAHHHHAA
