Like OH MY GOSH. I don't know what to talk to him I mean like am I suppose to talk about the weather or sum?? Like he could say hi to me and I'll say hi to him but its still awkward likkeee what topic am I suppose to talk to him? God or sum? How I change? tf?!?? Does anyone have advice or is this just gonna fly by and we'll be fine or sum cause its hella awkward

frrr it so awkardddd（＞_＜）while me and my dad are chill it is really awkward to talk to him about some things. I would say try to bond with him over a common interest. for me and my dad it was over gardening and sports. its perfectly OK to not be super close or buddy buddy with your dad but its good have something you both can bond and spend time together with

it's okay if you both don't have anything in common to bond over. I would start out by being honest, "Dad,I want you to know that even though our conversations may be awkward, or we don't talk much, I love you." If you think he's a good father, tell him. If you miss him, tell him because I'm sure he would appreciate hearing these things. If talking is hard, send texts. It can be something short like, "hey dad, just want you to know I miss you." It may sound weird like you're having a relationship, but this is a relationship Once you get over feeling weird about expressing your feelings, it gets easier. Good luck. Can you do something with him? Start a project, learn a hobby, even watch sport with him?
