On the subject of linguistics,
I think modern-day language within the LGBT and mental health communities evolves incredibly fast due to social media and general culture. This is called "Lavender linguistics" or "Queer linguistics."
We have so many new identities now and terms are thrown around and are oftentimes misused.
We didn't have terms such as neopronouns or xenogenders until quite recently. I also see that for new terms, a lot of Latin and Greek roots and suffixes are used.
Non-binary folk often invent their own pronouns besides they/them, and words like sapphic, bear, twink, etc. And the acronyms MLM and WLW.
Also, the "gay voice" or gay lisp is pretty odd. Y'know the stereotypical gay guy, sounds like a valley girl and croaky and high pitched and stretching vowels.
And voice training with trans people also is pretty neat. They often focus on lowering and constricting the larynx (voice box.)
This is all super interesting to me. Let me know what you guys think of this.
