the lego movie was probably one of my favorite movies as a kid.... and it still is!! tee hee i remember watching it allllll the time. anywho, i recently rewatched it (probably abt a month or 2 ago....) so!! review time!!!
(im sorry if i get any details wrong btw.... i have a bad memory and dont rlly wanna rewatch it again rn!!)
in my opinion, the lego movie is suchhhh a good kids movie. along w all the lego movies (like the batman one and ninjago ones) !! it's so enjoyable to watch as a child, but its also entertaining for adults too!!! i think that a lot of movies targeted for kids should be like that and its a shame theyre not..... not only so your parents wont get bored watching it with you, but so you can rewatch the movie when youre older and still like it.
(in case you havent seen it) the lego movie is about this little lego construction worker named emmett who is like the chosen one, called the special!! hes told hes the only one to stop this evil president guy from taking over the world ^_^
emmett is so normal its shocking. like everyone is always like... wow.... ur such a blank slate emmett.... he feels really doubtful that hes "the special" because like. hes surrounded by all these people who are cool and creative while he cant really build anything without a guide. by the end, though, he realizes that being special doesnt mean anything when everyone is special and unique in their own ways!!!! yes, emmett is the averagest average a guy could be, but even that is not normal, because no one else is like him!! he gives the evil president guy possibly the best speech in film history:
"You don't have to be the bad guy. You are the most talented, most special, most extraordinary person in the universe. And you are capable of amazing things. Because you are the Special. And so am I. and so is everyone. The prophecy is made up, but it's also true... it's about all of us, and right now, it's about you. And you... still... can change everything."
this is a common theme in media, but i honestly think the lego movie explains it the best. not to mention the scene when he says this, and the buildup to it all..... like its straight up beautiful!! im trying my best to actually review here but i love it so much and i dont have the right words here. the way he describes this feeling is perfect, like: we are all equally different, and brilliant, and talented. there is no limit to creativity or minimum for ideas!!! its such a good sentiment and AGAINNN the wording used here is so perfect. its simple enough for kids to understand but still gets its point across SO WELLl...... oh my gyatttsh did i mention i love this speech!!!!
the animation in this movie is is also so amazing!! for the longest time i actually thought that it was stop motion, and i only realized when i rewatched it that it was computer animated!!!!! i also think that the animation compliments the humor so well. like, its just so perfect!!! sigh!!! i have a hard time describing stuff like this because i think of it as colors and tastes, but ummmm the animation is definitely like a cutesy little blue and red and it tastes like a pb & j and its great,,, speaking of the humor... ITS SO SILLY!!! like i still find it funny ^__^
OBVIOUSLY my favorite is unikitty. i actually loved that unikitty show they made and i would watch it alllll the time until my parents got rid of cable (rip) but it still lives on in my memoriess... sisghghhg.... but yes shes so amazing. and i was so sad for her when cloud cuckoo land got destroyed UGH. her face bro. and i also rlly liked good cop and bad cop.... and like everyone... but especially unikitty ^_^ aHHH!!!
the lego movie teaches you to do what YOU want to do, be who you want to be, and that being average is perfectly okay. its impossible to put people into groups because no one is the same!!! and thats dandy!!! creativity comes at different levels and art is subjective, and everything is awesome and everything is cool when ur part of a team ^_^
i really hope there are movies as great as this one for the kids being born today :3 i dont wanna be like Heh my generation is The Coolest... because its not its just that i honestly think media is a big part of who we are!! movies are art (obvi) and they have souls, and id hate to think that an entire generation could be raised without movies and shows that have personality. and without seeing the lego movie.... cus thats crazy...\
I RATE THIS MOVIE A SOLID 10/10!!!! ITS SO AMAZING AND YOU SHOULD WATCH IT AND IF YOUVE ALREADY WATCHED IT THEN WATCH IT AGAIN!!!
also they made a second one i think?? ive never seen it but i saw stuff abt it when looking up the synopsis lol
