a poem about eternity

my friends saw this first!! :D

Eternity

Her breath is colder than the depths of ice,

her gaze is filled with nothing but contempt,

and for her love I will one day pay the price,

but to me, she is an angel heaven-sent.

I am in love with eternity.

I am in love with pure cruelty,

and for her love I will pay,

the steepest of bonds.

Blood is lighter than the scars,

that surely will be left.

But she is angelic to me, with her voice,

Soothing my empty gaze as I stare onwards.
To you there may be, but for me no choice,

but to dream of her choking grasp and snide words.

I am in love with eternity.

I am in love with pure cruelty,

The world cares not for me

Insignificant as I may be,

I know my place.

I am in love with eternity.

I am in love with what will never happen.

I am a dreamer, cursed to cry,

I am a sleeper, forced to awaken.

I am what I am, so pass me by.

Ok but what is the poem about: Poets interpretation.

The idea of this poem was to communicate the allure of placing yourself in the position where you idolise the foreverness and expansiveness of the universe to the point you start ignoring the world around you. It's definetly a poem in the direction of lettig go of reality, and how it can be like a trap where you don't see the world in the same way anymore, and you struggle to connect with the earth itself and how it works to the point where you forget yourself in a sense.
