there is only one metal that can be black and thats niobium, which can be anodised to black. but its very rare to find and expensive (and the black isnt a nice polished look its kinda muddy cause the metal has to be basically burnt to achieve the look). so what you have would be painted, most probably steel. but the dangerous thing about the painted jewlery is we have zero clue whats in the paint. like legit, we have no idea, the manufacturers refuse to tell us. which means its most probably nooot meant to be worn in the body. so having that on your healing wounds can be dangerous. painted jewlery also chips, those little paint flakes aint awesome cause it means its probably in the wound now.
i dont wanna make you feel bad, just telling you the risks. be piercing safe ;0
get them replaced with titanium curved barbells!! dont go to the same piercer, if you ask if theyre titanium theyll say yes anyway, but theyre definitely not. no painted jewlery until theyre healed, even the tops.
