Went to my first rave last Saturday with my friend Chris! He had an extra ticket so I was invited which was super exciting because I had never been to a rave before! I packed water and earplugs, feeling rather prepared to jump around and dance and maybe flirt with some of the other single people there. I actually tried to dress up too (although I was being out dressed by so many other patrons). Honestly, the earplugs were such a good choice because I did not feel overstimulated at all at the rave, feeling quite laid back the entire time. The poster mentioned Chappell Roan and Charli XCX along with breakcore but the rave itself ended up only being breakcore to the dismay of every patron I managed a conversation with. I didn't mind it too much but I could see so many people dressed in Chappell Roan cosplays, so I could understand the discontent. The most exciting part was when I approached another rave-goer because they looked like an artist I have been a fan of since 2019, only for them to ACTUALLY be the artist. I was actually starstruck, here stood someone whose art had impacted mine to some degree and I was becoming Instagram mutuals with them! They were so nice and I sincerely hope they didn't feel harassed by me or anything because I know I was extremely off-putting. It was honestly a net win to go to that rave because I got to try a new drink, get the rave experience, and meet someone cool (09/21/2024). — Mars ᓚᘏᗢ |
