really good question geuninely, i've been here on and off for a few years now and the culture on this site is so so different from anywhere else on the internet, for better and for worse. its actually really fascinating to me... but anyway to answer your question, some people do and some people don't! most people rely on the other person to initiate conversations, which results in most people not initiating conversations at all. A lot of people move to somewhere else like Discord to chat rather than on Spacehey messages (???? I THINK???? i've seen this fact refrenced a lot but i have not experienced it).
