I have a personal music project where I take 100 albums that are new of the year, listen to them, rate them, rank them, and throw them into a playlist.
I try to keep the results unbiased. The list is comprised of bands/artists that I already know and like, some that I don't know but have heard of, and some that I have never heard of. The genres are varied, I wanted to ensure that I try new things musically so hopefully I will find new things to listen to so I don't listen to the same old shit on repeat.
The playlist is in order from best to worst for the year 2023 (of course, this is my opinion). If anyone wants, I can post the album list in order so you can find them on your own without scrolling through the playlist to find out what they are. If you have questions lemme know.
*I also am not taking recommendations for this years list. I already have my list complied, just waiting on the rest of the years albums to come out. Oh and I have fallen behind for like... 4 months on listening to albums so I need to get on it to finish 2024 :/ Wish me luck*
Edit: The preview only goes to 100 songs. The full playlist if you click on it has 1311 songs and roughly 77 hours worth of music. I hope y'all find new faves from the list. Feel free to let me know what you like, disagree with, etc! (please be kind)

i didn't recognise a whole lot of artists/albums, but im happy to see the ones I did *not* on the bottom of the list!
Haha that's usually what people say when I show them -- what were the ones you recognized?

hozier, melanie martinez, i recognised poppy though I've never listened to that album, same with skrillex, the troye sivan album, and artists I don't really listen to like Kali uchis, miles cyrus, stuff like that!
